Student Game Writer
We usually respond within two weeks
Are you our new Student Game Writer?
We’re on the lookout for a student worker to help us write the small lines that make a big difference - punchy dialogue, witty one-liners and those little moments of personality that bring a game to life. So, if you’re a gamer who loves language, pop culture and a good punchline, you might be the next member of Funday Games!
Who you are:
As a Student Game Writer, you’ll help shape the voice and personality of a game through short-form dialogue and punchlines. That’s why it’s important that you have a strong feel for language, know your way around tongue-in-cheek humour and can write dialogue that feels natural and playful. You’re fluent in English and have a strong grasp of grammar, but you also know when bending the rules makes a line better. You understand pop culture, internet culture and gaming references - and, most importantly, you’re a gamer yourself!
What you’ll be working on:
You’ll be working on an exciting partner project where your primary focus will be writing and refining short-form in-game dialogue. This includes:
Writing punchy dialogue, one-liners, jokes and other short-form in-game text
Finding the right tone of voice for different characters and situations
Bringing humour, personality and charm into even the smallest pieces of dialogue
Using your knowledge of games, pop culture and internet culture to create relevant and playful references
Reviewing and polishing existing dialogue to make sure the English, grammar, tone and timing are spot on
What we offer:
We offer a part time position with approx. 15 hours per week with lots of responsibility, independence and influence - always with nice people to spar and juggle ideas with. We have a hybrid setup that allows you to work from home, with at least one day per week at our office in Filmbyen 11a, 8000 Aarhus C.
Who we are:
Funday Games is an experienced games studio based in the heart of Aarhus trusted by partners like Ghost Ship Games, SYBO Games, Apple and many more. We are 50+ digital savvy people specialised in games, engagement and digital experiences.
Our four core values - think big, stay curious, have fun, and be kind - are at the heart of who we are at Funday. They shape both our strategic direction and our daily interactions at the office. That’s why it’s important for us to find a new colleague who not only brings strong skills, but who also connects with these values and wants to help us nurture them in everything we do.
At Funday, we go to work to produce the greatest games of the highest possible quality - always with our players in the driver's seat. But that’s only half the reason. We go to work to have fun. A lot of fun so if you like informal environments filled with creative and technical expertise - and where slippers and Star Wars t-shirts are much more common than suits and ties, you’ll fit right in.
Finally, if you can slightly see yourself in this role - we’d love to hear from you.
You don’t need to tick every single box. At Funday, we care deeply about building diverse, inclusive teams where different perspectives and backgrounds are valued and welcomed.
So don’t hesitate - send us your application, even if you’re not sure you’re “exactly right.” You just might be the person we didn’t know we needed yet 💛
